<----I disagree. The pre Version 2's didn't have the improved PA
design and it was known for PA failures. Not extremely common but
they happened. Sure, you could retrofit the new PA board into a pre
V2 but it wasn't all that common to do. The new PA is essentially
bulletproof.

I was talking about the differences in firmware/features only and how they
were less important if using an external controller...but yeah, there were
issues with the first-gen V1 PA's. There were three revisions to the PA's
in the UHF line and two on VHF if I remember right.
