I second Jon's recommendation of looking at MMDVM (dvswitch, and related project) to link your repeaters and gateway to other networks of devices.

You did not mention if you had one vendor or multiple vendor DMR repeaters you wish to connect but each vendor may have their own proprietary networking scheme but mmdvm will work on all of them... plus you can make DMR repeaters from analog repeaters/radios with some minor modification.
