Hello Jeff,
Rotating tuning is not used for extensive fine tuning. The threaded part is adjusted for height of the rod set screw to compensate for frequency and temperature compensation and then the rod is tuned to the frequency. The set screw on the rod isn’t set until everything is tuned and then a very small amount of rotational turning for very fine tuning is done if at all. ?But with the fingers that are used, there is minimal affect on the plating unlike the bent cut copper pipe made fingers of the TXRX cans. ?I’m comparing the 7” (6.25”) cans made from irrigation dimensional piping.?

That Chinese stuff issue arose because C Comprod ?lost a large filter tender to Sinclair in Canada and they made up that there was a Chinese security issue with government using the product which is totally BS because there was no electronics in cavities….. but politicians don’t know the difference.?

There was lots of sharing and copying in the early days of these companies especially with the ferrite products.?
