Solar Events, 29 May 2025, Prospect, ME
Good evening...here are 3 spectrograms. Frankly I don't know what to make of the first at 1040 UTC which is about 2 hours before local sunrise... Clearly a very active day but my simple antenna I can't discriminate separate events. ....bill.....

May 29 2025 Type IIIb solar radio storm in progress
3
I think there is a Type IIIb solar radio storm in progress. See attached spectrograms. - Tom AI Overview Learn more A Type IIIb solar radio burst storm refers to a prolonged series of Type IIIb bursts, which are fine frequency structures within Type III bursts. Type III bursts are caused by energetic electrons traveling along magnetic field lines away from the Sun, and Type IIIb bursts are believed to be associated with density inhomogeneities in the background plasma.

27 May 2025 Cas A scintillation

Some surprisingly strong Cas A scintillation for this time of year. Beats me why it's stronger in LCP. Might be due to Cas A being in a side lobe instead of the main beam. -- Dave

Solar Events 26 May 2025, Prospect, ME
Good evening.....Two events captured... For whatever it's worth, we were watching the local broadcast news on channel 5 (76-82 Mhz) at about 2100 UTC/1700 EDT this afternoon and the picture was frequently pixelated for a few seconds at a time. The transmitter is only about 40 miles from our house "as the crow flies". The ionosphere seem to be quite disturbed. .....bill.....

Solar SiD 05/25/2025 Easley, South Carolina
Good evening: I am calling this a Solar/SID. Coincides in time with Bill's capture. Thanks Bill. There seems to be definite signal drop. There are several GOES X-ray flux spikes for 05/25/2025. The first one I suspect is the X flare that Tom alerted us about. Sun already down here. Thanks Tom. Did you see it at your place? There is a spike that seems to coincide with the captures attached to this email. Welcome all comments. John
