Re: Views of the Solar "Storm" from the Dark Sky Observatory May 13, 2025
Thanks Larry. I was able to perform the RX-888 to RSS via SDR console and so far it has worked quite well but I've just been testing at home so far and haven't tried it on our setup in Finksburg, MD

Hi Huub, I would be interested in how you did the calibration with SDRconsole on the RX-888.? My student and I (we have both built a calibrator) went out to the antenna site yesterday and attempted a

Re: Solar SID 05/15/2025 Easley, South Carolina
Good morning John... I see nothing like your first frame here but between the events at about 1715:50 and those at about 1727:30 there is a general "darkening". The WWV signal becomes interrupted but

Hi Richard, I did a calibration on the rx888 setup with sdr-console. I was thinking of using the calibrator controlled by rss (windows) with rx888 and rx2fits (linux) at the receiving end. As far as I

Re: Views of the Solar "Storm" from the Dark Sky Observatory May 13, 2025
Hi Jim, rx2fits2rss is a program developed by Sabine (and me as the sidekick) It is able to convert the fits files created by rx2fits (from Nathan) to Radio sky Spectrograph compattible format. It

Jim, rx2fits2rss is a Python script that Huub and I wrote to convert rx2fits spectral data from FITS format to RSS format. We wrote to you a few months ago with the rather nonsensical question of

Re: Views of the Solar "Storm" from the Dark Sky Observatory May 13, 2025
Hi Richard, I have to admit that so far I've only worked with the RX888 at home. My calibrator is at the receiving site in the uplands. I believe Huub has already made calibrated recordings, but

Tyson The instructions for using the RX888 with SDR Condole and SDRc2RSS can be found on the Radio JOVE WIKI page. We support that method. Larry K4LED _______________________

Jim Nathan wrote rx2fits but as far as I know rx2fits2rss does not exists. His rx refers to the RX888 MK2 sdr. Nathan worked with a group on the RX888 web server but it never worked right. Think

Sabine, what is rx2fits2rss? I see Nathan's rx2fits project. So does this convert FITS to RSS ? Vielen Dank Jim [email protected]> wrote:

Hi everyone, I recently purchased an RX-888 and was wondering if there are instructions on how to run rx2fits code within Linux. I know how to install Linux but maybe there is a distro that is best.
