Hi John,

What is your station latitude?

the manual states one is needed for northern hemisphere observers when Jupiter

northern declinations at my current position. The confusion arises when viewing
Fig. 3.8 in the manual that provides an image of the phasing cable attached, but
was hoping to clarify that this would not be the case if Jupiter is at northern
declinations.
Another question arose when choosing the beam patterns for a dual dipole array.
I was hoping to gather the most gain, and noticed the evalvation angles given
for each were not close to the maximium or average elevation angle of Jupiter
for my given latitude. I had found the maximum elavation angle for Jupiter at 40
degrees N to be about 72, and the only close value for elevation angle was 60
degrees. I was curious about how close the two values should be, or if the
elevation angle was incorrectly calculated.
I have also attached images of the given elevation angle for Jupiter and dual
dipole configurations.
Thank you!

Re: 02 April 2025: Jupiter and Solar at the same time!!

Hi Richard,
?
I don't even know if I've ever seen this combination being posted here before. It's always nice to look into the Total Perspective Vortex.

Re: April 04, 2025: Nearly continuous solar bursts for several hours

Impressive! This proves once again that a quiet location with good SNR is crucial.

I'm using a 21 MHz Moxon antenna tuned for 20 MHz,? should be 3 dB better than a dipole.? Not sure it is.

Thanks Tom...Interesting in the differences in the spectrograms.
I have a single dipole and a RSP1A receiver and nothing is calibrated. I would guess that for those REALLY interested in these events --- how, where, etc. they occur --- your more refined energy profile is more useful and informative.
Wonder what the plots recorded by the experts look like?
Again, thanks.....bill....

More Solar Events, 4 April 2025, Prospect, ME

This was the last strong event record but between the first 3 previously posted and this one there were 6 weaker events.
After the 1821:40 event there were 5 more but much weaker. I haven't posted the spectrograms for the weaker events. Anyone interested in the times?
A busy day!.....bill....
