She grew up with older brother Karl on the family ranch outside of Meridian, where Anna developed her great love for animals. Pet shows, 4-H crafts and cooking, showing sheep and Polled Hereford heifers at the Clifton Fair, FFA, and basketball filled her childhood and teen years with fun and challenges. She was passionate about her nursing career but took time for laughter and playfulness as well. Anna's favorite and most recent nursing position was at the Hill County Jail Facility.

Anna's daughter, Christian also kept her busy as "Mom", encouraging Christian with 4-H crafts, cooking, canning, as well as with sheep in the show ring.
