Hello Rappahannock Astronomy Club,

I am very concerned with what I saw on Sunday night June 7, 2020 and was hoping you could help me to figure out what I saw. I will try my best to explain but if you would rather talk about the details let me know and I will give you my?phone number.

I live in Stafford, Va in the Garrisonville area and on June 7, 2020 I was sitting on my back deck checking emails on my phone and looked up in to the sky and saw this huge bright red circle shaped light flying almost like an airplane would move through the sky, but a bit slower. I was looking at the south sky at 10:20pm and this light was right above the treetops and to the right of the bottom right star in the Corvus constilation (I looked it up on SkyMap).?

At first I was staring at this light trying to figure out why it was so much bigger than a normal airplane light ( I would say it was the size of 5 airplanes if you stuck them all together and flew them in the air). And I was also trying to figure out why the light was so bright and red and did not have any blinking lights around it. The large red light almost had a faint sparkle around the whole circular edge.?

At first the light was moving slowly north and then stopped. That is when I realized it must not be an airplane. Then it went Northeast a tiny bit, then stopped and stayed for about 10 seconds. Then went an even smaller distance to the Northeast again and stopped for about 10 seconds. By this time I turned my camera on my phone and tried to record what I was seeing. The video was not good, but I will attach it. Then the light started to get smaller and smaller and seemed to be going back south or up into the atmosphere? until it literally disappeared, which took like 5 seconds. It moved so quickly as it got smaller and smaller. The whole time there was never a "tail" like you would see on a shooting star. And there was no sound at all.?

The video is so short because it was not picking up the disappearing light very well so I stopped the video to call my husband to come out to see it before it was gone. But he missed it.?

I would say this all happened in 1-2 minutes. It was so unbelievable. I am so confused at what I saw and was wondering if you saw it too?? Or know of anyone else I can ask. It was so weird and have never seen anything like it before. Or is there a night sky camera in the area that I can look up to see if it captured this light too.?

Please advise.?

Thank you for your time!
