Re: Where (or What) to Begin?

Joel,
If you cannot find the book at the reasonable price, do not worry about it.
?
There are a ton of resources on the web these days including YouTube for homebrewing including this QRP Tech group here.
?
There is the book Solid State for the Radio Amateur you can find on the Internet Archive which i recommend getting as a PDF.
And there is any book book by Doug DeMw W1FB like: W1FB's QRP Notebook which can be found on Internet Archive as well.? Get that as well.
I will not directly link because of stupid bots.
?
If you are a ARRL memeber, then you can search the ARRL Archive and download articles of any of the past magazines of ARRL and some very old out-of-print non-ARRL magazines too.?
?
Hamfests not only contain radios and trinkets, they have books and magazines...
?
I have the actual book W1FB's QRP Notebook - it was a lucky find at a hamfest.
?
Take a look at Chuck Adams web link and YouTube videos.
?
Start with a small project.?? Ask questions on this list.??? Some of us do not mind questions.? One of the Steve's on here is a big Elmer on here.? William is a big Elmer too.? Any many others.? So, do not be afraid to ask questions.?? Some of the replies might be private so as not to annoy the group though.
?
If you search for G3UUR, you will find others have built this crystal tester as well including me.
