If I get to the PCB stage it's not that difficult to make a custom board, but most of my stuff is one of a kind or some kind of prototype, so figuring out how to set up remote components with headers/pins is desirable. I used these connectors in several places, and I used pre-made pieces that I could solder rather than having to crimp. This is how they turned out, and how I used them.
