Jack, for the PoC I had the hat on a Raspberry Pi 5.? Plenty of power for the Python code.

Plus, I just wanted to get an idea of what might be possible.

Python has really taken off with the Data Science and ML communities.

So, lots of scientific and visualization support now.

Just picked up a Pi Pico 2W so will be trying out Python and C code on that.

Sure Michael.? I updated the repo with a mermaid diagram of the system architecture.

You'll see a Model View Controller pattern in there.

Yes, great advantage in sunlight, no power draw when "sleeping"

Draw back is full refresh of the screen can be slow, a design constraint

You won't be doing a real time waterfall with this type of display.

But, you could do a sweep style graph/plot like on the Yaesu FT-891.

I just picked up a Raspberry Pi Pico 2w for the next step of experimenting.

One way to have the best of both worlds might be to write a C or C++ library for the heavy DSP computations, where speed will matter most, while writing the UI code in Python.

It incorporates most of the features of Big-Python but also has things that are needed for embedded programming like interrupts and even multi-core support for the RP2040 (I think the only platform that current does) and it allows a more interactive relationship with the hardware during program development, which I am finding very useful.??

On June 01 I had a CW practice session on 20 metes. I worked only one station.




Conditions were terrible with weak signals, QSB and QRN. The band was very noisy and there was a G4 solar storm. SSN=96, SFI=150, A=126, K=7

My next CW practice session will be June 06 at 08:00 EDT / 12:00 UTC on 20 meters.?
Anyone and everyone is welcome. These practice sessions are intended for operators who are new to CW or they need some practice. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW POOR YOUR CW IS. Mistakes are OK. Poor fists are OK. Slow speed is OK. Really slow speed is OK. This practice is meant for you to improve your CW. I will do my best to adjust to your skill level. Operate at any power level. If several stations show up, I will operate as a round-table control station. I will do it as a round-table so everyone gets a chance to transmit. Please listen to my directions.

use an ePaper screen (with buttons) in a project.? The idea being to
plant the seed on what could potentially be done.

Both Ed and Ernie got a bunch of SMA connectors and cables because they got a WB2CBA Pocket Tuner at vendor night which uses SMA. Ed also got a ADX Pocket. The ADX is an Arduino based Digital Modes Transceiver.
Stan wanted to know if we were able to get a look at the new Ten Tec rig. Yes there was one but we could not get a real close to it. It looked like a very rough prototype. We were also able to see the new Yaesu but just too many people to get close. There was a new Flex Aurora.
Pete is going to do a Move-In special contest when this relocation is complete and has his shack up and operational. Standby for details.
Dave has a AI6YM T41 kit
We talked about the I and Q on a KX2 vs I and Q on a QRP Labs QMX QRP.
Lab 599 has a new radio based on the Wolfe transceiver.?
The Elecraft K2 has an accessory that will do digital and one that will do a panadapter.
Dave is working on doing a K4 remotely. The K40 is Elecraft’s top priority. Ekecraft is also working on a better noise reduction.
