Re: Idle current, QRPGuys DSB Digital Transceiver
Chuck,
Here's what I got:
20m, 1.1w out @250mA
30m, 1.1w out @250mA
40m, 4.0w out @600mA
Those reading taken with Steve's instructions to advance the audio input until it reliably transmits, plus

Re: Idle current, QRPGuys DSB Digital Transceiver
Ken gets the same values that I do for receive.
Question is going to be what do you get with
transmit with WSJT-X software on TUNE?

Re: Idle current, QRPGuys DSB Digital Transceiver
Steve,
12.0 V on the lab supply, 50 ohm dummy load. With the berg connector in place , I get 53mA with the bias set full CW. I rotate CCW to 68mA, to set the bias. I then remove the berg connector

Re: Idle current, QRPGuys DSB Digital Transceiver
It is going to depend on the supply voltage. A lot I think. Did
not run some tests.
Using a lab supply at 12.00V, I was getting an idle current of around
61-63mA if I remember correctly. Around

Idle current, QRPGuys DSB Digital Transceiver
Chuck,
After setting the Gate bias voltage according to the instructions, what is the resultant idle current on your DSB rig (jumpers set for bias setup)?
(I know it will vary somewhat from rig to

Good morning all,
I was thinking of buying one of these little devices and I had the same
questions in my mind about the DSB mode of operation.
The other thing I was questioning is the design of the

Hi John,
Thanks for the data. I will look into them.
I was reading a lot during the work commute (2x 45 minutes in public transport here in Prague every working day). I think I can increase the

Did some search on this topic, found some heated opinions and discussions.
Looks like It is legal from the FCC standpoint, but questionable from the ham ethics standpoint.
My personal preference would

Hi Vojtech,
Bunch of diode curves plotted here:

Which might be useful for checking spice computed curves.
Also of interest is section "1N5711 Response with 10 k¦¸

Look in your slicer for a way to turn the top and bottom layers off.
In Cura, look under Shell. Set Top Layers and Bottom Layers = 0.
