I've used both the LC100-A for around $15.00 and the LC200A for around $30.00 on ebay. They all have the same basic circuitry. I recommend spending the extra money on the LC200A because of its nice case. The LC100-A is unpackaged and has a higher chance of getting damaged. Both of these are quite stable and can work down to low values of capacitance or inductance. The stability depends on the reference capacitor and coil used inside the unit. You can't beat either one of these for their performance for the price.

Since Neil Hecht's sad passing, his fine L/C meter is unavailable. While there are a plethora of Chinese units on eBay (with concomitant multi-fortnight waiting period), are there any worth considering? I have a young friend I am Elmering who would like an L/C unit like the AADE.
