Pretty good night, but a few busted QSOs, due to

Re: The Return of ET
Hi, Lloyd, guys--
Well, I was sort of thinking of that as an ANTI-spot-- a reminder that houndslol...what happened to the no-spotting rule??<< will have to search the entire 20Khz. If anything it becomes a semi-spot when YOU imply something based on "insider knowledge." [g]. So to clear things up, I will beak from the current practice of not telling hounds where I will be-- I will absolutely be operating on 7R040+/-R1. 73 Marshall Emm N1FN/VK5FN n1fn@... The Return of ET
Hi, guys--
I'll be one of the foxes tomorrow night, in the season-ender with Lloyd K3ESE. No idea what condx will be like, of course, but if last week is any guide it's quite probable that a path will exist for only a few minutes at a time. I have a directional antenna (C4) and expect to be rotating it more often than usual and will also switch to the vertical from time to time. So... if you have trouble hearing me, don't give up. At the beginning I will be sending DE N1FN UP which means I will be listening above my transmitting frequency, but exactly how far up is something you'll have to figure out. Generally you can expect me to listen closer to home and eventually zerobeat as we get into the second hour. Don't forget we have had to abandon the "up/down" convention where one fox was above 040 and the other below. [g] Good luck, and may the Fox be with you.... FOX: final week...K3ESE
Lloyd Lachow
Here we are again - about to face the future with
nothing to look forward to, except Atlanticon, FDIM, the Summer Fox Hunt... I'll be one of the final Foxii, along with Marshall, N1FN, tomorrow night. Particulars are available at . I'll be found somewhere, anywhere, between 7.030 and 7.050 MHz, and I'm hoping for enough skip to keep it going for the full two hours. (crazy, I know) I'll be using a borrowed K2 at 5W to the hawgwahr loop, and I've got a lot of peltii to distribute to y'all... But, all seriousness aside, it's been a challenging and, for the most part, enjoyable Season. Thanks to all the Foxii, Houndii and to my fellow Committee members for all pitching in to provide the fun! see you there, LL/K3ESE 72 es oo, Lloyd, K3ESE - Reisterstown, Maryland FM19pl ATS-3 - KX1#11 - multiPIG+#14 - K1#379 Loop - EDZ - LW - Begali Signature Edition #75 ARRL - ARS - QRParci - QCWA - FISTS #8774 FPQRP #-476 - QRP-L - BORG #2 NAQCC #236 - CQC #770 Fun = Skill / Power ! 8^ D __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Wish I could have given out more pelts, but it was fairly busy for the
first hour. Band seemed to change right around 0300 and QRM pushed me up to around 7038 in the second hour. Didn't do much good :( I had fun anyway, and I'm looking forward to the summer series. Hi, Guys--
And two is better than one [g]. Managed both but only just. I gave up after half hour of huge S8 QRM (broadband signal that has been plaguing me lately, probably east of here and strong from around 1.5 to 5.5MHz). Went back down to the shack with about 15 minutes to go, found and worked both but had to repeat my name several times. SO glad I was operating as ET and not MARSHALL [G]. 73 Marshall Emm N1FN/VK5FN n1fn@... Morse Express and Oak Hills Research "Everything for the Morse Enthusiast" (303)752-3382 -- |

Hi all,
I think I have only had one or two Foxes that were really loud at the beginning. All the others that I have gotten were originally ESP to 229, and I had to wait for them to get stronger. That¡¯s why it pays to listen, and scan the band segment continuously for the whole two hours. People that concentrate on the loudest one often lose the opportunity to bag the other guy, and then the one they were listening to eventually fades out. Re: One Better Than None!
It's been quite a dry spell this season, and I'm afraid that the declining SSN will make it even worse for the next couple years - at least for those of us who aren't in TX ;-) Worked Tom at about 0250Z - it only took a couple calls to figure out where he was listening.? Nice, solid S5 signal here.? No joy with W1RT; I didn't even hear any hounds calling.? However, I did hear a LOT of PSK31 and Pactor.? Was there some sort of digital sprint going on? 72 - Al, K2ZN |

Thursday, but he'll be replaced by John, W1RT, in Virginia. John will post later, about his setup...enjoy! Only four more pelts left this Season! 72, LL __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! Netrospective: 100 Moments of the Web |
