If I recall correctly, Fritz will not display a dot for a submitted QSO if at least the operator's name does not match what he has in his database, as well as possibly the state. And of course not if the call sign itself is a bust.

Phil, I was right after Den and I did not see my dot appear in the map. I waited a while and I called again and got the B4 so I gave you the dit dit. Still didn¡¯t get a dot. I was just making sure.?

Good job last night considering the conditions.?

Thank you Den for the QSOs.

I thought you sent the same information both times...? I wasn't sure if you were running a different power level and this is why you called me again.? I sent "B4?" and didn't?hear a reply so I put you down twice.? I will erase the 0213 if I don't hear back?from you...?

Thanks for sticking with me... an interesting challenge.

Re: Preliminary Log 80 meter 032825 K4PQC Hunt 37

Thanks for hanging in there, Phil, to complete our exchange at 0220. I was literally Tony's first contact for the hunt, and your last contact. It doesn't always happen that way, and did mean I was calling you for the entire hunt and always seemingly being beaten out by apparently louder stations to you. You are admittedly out near the extreme of what my undersized antenna for 80 meters can do, which was further hampered by your high-noise problem.

I have dealt with high noise levels before from power lines and such, and know how "not fun" that is with high noise floors. For me, at least twice it was faulty connections on nearby city street lights in the neighborhood. But the worst time ended up being in the house itself, when the power adapter for my cable modem went haywire, creating horrible wide-band noise that my antenna was picking up from 25 feet away and swamping everything. I had to find that one on an evening when no one else was home where I could put my radio on battery and turn off all the circuit breakers in the house, bringing them back on one at a time to narrow down the noise source. Fortunately, once identified, I had an identical power adapter from the same brand of equipment that I could substitute to fix the problem.

Well this one was interesting.? ?Lots of hounds calling... trying to get through my noise?floor which was somewhere between S-5 and S-6.? ?If you saw my announcement?and looked at the link you would see what I am faced with.? My hearing isn't what it used to be and even before it started going south, I had a hard time hearing below the noise floor..? My S-meter was all over the scale and if I heard you that was enough...??

I'm sure that I'll have a few corrections...? Thanks for your patience.? I was happy to distribute as many pelts this evening as I did and sorry for those who didn't receive one from me.? 72 - Phil K4PQC

80 meter hunt 3/28

Howdy Hounds,

I will be a fox for the 80 meter hunt Thursday evening from 0100z until 0230z hiding in the North Georgia woods.between 3.5050 MHz and 3.5070 MHz .along with Tony KT0AA? who will be hiding in the MO woods.??

Most of the time I will be calling: "CQ FOX K4PQC UP"? as I am having some noise problems please spread out between 1 and 2 KHz higher than my calling frequency.? If I don;t call "up" please try not to zero beat my frequency, go to one side or the other of my calling frequency, so that hounds can hear who I am calling.... more pelts will be handed out this way.? ??

BTW; if you are interested in seeing what I am faced with check out the following 5 minute road trip hunting for power line noise:? ?

KT0AA Fox Announcement for Thursday, March 27th

Good evening hounds,
?
I¡¯m planning to operate from the 80m Woods tomorrow night, along with Phil K4PQC, from 8:00 to 9:30 PM CST (Fri, 3/28/2025, 01:00-02:30 UTC).

You¡¯ll find me somewhere between 3.550-3.570 MHz, listening 1-2 kHz above my transmit frequency, running a Kenwood TS-590SG at 5w output into a full-wave 80m horizontal loop up 30ft.?

At some point during the hunt, if I¡¯m rarely hearing any stations calling, I will stop running split and operate simplex. You¡¯ll know when that happens because I¡¯ll stop sending ¡°UP¡± after my CQ. Please do not zero-beat me while running simplex, rather call me 200-400 Hz above or below my transmit frequency.
I¡¯m only stating these things for those who may be new and/or unaware here.
?
Hope to give you all a pelt,
?
Tony

Re: Charts 40m foxunt 250326

Both Foxes were copyable and building here in VE7 when I checked at 0130Z. I gave it a rest hoping that both would be louder about 30-40 mins later as usual but was surprised to find that both were inaudible and the pileups had also seemingly vanished, an unusual sudden downward shift on both paths. The Sun was still out here during both periods I listened.

Thanks for the charts, Randy.? I heard you the entire hunt and your
pile-up was huge at first.? I was one of the CA stations calling but no
joy.? Larry was a little weaker and I found him early as well.

Here's a screen capture taken during the hunt.? Randy under the blue
line on the right on 7042.5 and Larry under the red line on the right at
7034.7.? At the time I was listening to both Foxes.? You can see the
respective callers about one kHz up from each.

Thanks for being Foxes, guys.? It's been a tough season from out here
and I'm looking forward to summer!

Thanks for the charts, Randy.? I heard you the entire hunt and your pile-up was huge at first.? I was one of the CA stations calling but no joy.? Larry was a little weaker and I found him early as well.

Here's a screen capture taken during the hunt.? Randy under the blue line on the right on 7042.5 and Larry under the red line on the right at 7034.7.? At the time I was listening to both Foxes.? You can see the respective callers about one kHz up from each.

Thanks for being Foxes, guys.? It's been a tough season from out here and I'm looking forward to summer!

Thanks Randy, that was fun!? ? I could hear you very well.? ?Larry was a bit weak to me, and there were some loud CQ'ers, POTA's and VVVV's?
going for most of the time I was listening.? ? ? I gave up around 9pm, probably could have got 2 last night if I had gone the distance.
