[QRP-L] [FOX] Why not post the freq or small range of freqs

Yes, things have been sparse in Ohio, and I stand
with
Mike as batting
0 for 6 this season. Feast or famine on the
Northcoast.

I have been on both sides of this issue. Over the
past
several years,
I've always thought that posting Fox spots made the
whole thing too
easy. I thought that we should have to search and
try
to dig-out the
contact to make it a real challange.

Well, this year I finally got my wish,
and............
I hate it. Digging
through all the garbage looking for the Fox is
time-consuming and
frustrating at times. I've never been in the top 10,
but I've never been
scoreless either !!! I share all of Johns comments
and
feelings.......
however.........

I also agree with Mike. These are the rules that we
started with, and
we should stick to them. The key, I think, is to
keep
things in
perspective. The whole idea of the Fox Hunts was to
improve our
operating skill, not bag a pelt and go watch our
favorite TV show.
Conditions have made this season a REAL challange in
this area
of the country.

I've experienced frustration this year as well, but
have prepared
myself for dining on humble pie. Also, it's made me
think of fine-
tuning the equipment, re-working the antenna, giving
it my best
shot, and letting the pelts fall where they may.

Some sort of 80 meter operation event would be
interesting, but my
vote is to keep things as they are for this hunt.
If
it's 0 for Everything,
so be it.

Speaking for myself, propogation be darned, I'll be
there every
Thursday for the Hunt, shooting for a pelt. I am
prepared to be a
"Hemingway Hound", that is, "to die in the
rain............alone". ;)

Tally-Ho !

I don't either, yet...but my game plan is- keep
looking and listening.

We're expecting that everybody will honor the new
standard of not posting any spots, though. That way,
people without internet access can compete inthe Hunt
on an equal footing with all.

No problem Marshal. The results of the Zombie Sprint and QRPTTF are never
published anywhere. I'll be glad to see fox results any time they are
posted. This is not emergency stuff.

Re: 11/11 Pelt Awards?

Hello Lou-W8LI

After following LL's instructions, I obtained the same end result as you. So, I guess my question is still valid. Don't know what the new procedures allow, time-wise, for posting the results. We use to receive the majority of reports within 24 hours, though I believe it was not a hard rule. Sorry I jumped the gun. Should have consulted the web site first instead of second.

Lloyd,
Thanks. I am new to QRP and get very confused over QTH, QRP, QRP-L, QRP-F, QFOX lists, and Yahoo Groups.

Still running around peltless, too, but then I am a glutton for punishment, trying QRP while being restricted to
stealth mode at my QTH.

Setup: OHR-100A, DD-1 display, SCAF, WM-2 wattmeter, MJF16010 tuner, and MP-1 Superantenna in the attic.

Thanks for your info.

Whoops! Sorry. They're not there yet...

After the Hunt, the Foxii post their logs and ask
for corrections. If they're up for a couple of days,
they either get corrections or don't, and then they
get posted on the site when they're final. This year's
first Hunt logs went up two days before the second
Hunt, which I thought was amazingly speedy!

So...just go to the site and click on the call of
the Fox in question, and as soon as they're there,
they'll be there 8^D
