Hi, Guys--
ET will be getting on his bike and heading for the auspiciously full moon
tomorrow night. Yes, I'll be one of your Foxes and I've got a pelt here
with your name on it.
If you haven't been participating in the Hunts, please visit
www.qrpfoxhunt.org for all the details.
In accordance with the rules, I'll be somewhere in the vicinity of 7.040,
but I'm not going to tell you where. And when you do find me, PLEASE do
not post a spot on the list! It's not fair to people who won't see your
message till the next day.
I will be working split at the beginning-- please listen for UP or DN when
I call CQ and call me above or below my transmitting freq. How far off
you should go is kind of indefinite, but it should be at least 500Hz (half
a KC). Most RITs are capable of putting you off that far, but if you can't
work split don't panic-- I'll be listening closer and closer to
"zero-beat" as the hunt progresses. If history is any guide, I will be
working zero beat for the last half hour of the hunt and will also be
happy to take slow down as much as needed.
The moon is full, the gods of propagation have been propitiated, and
there's plenty of "lead" in my pencil. Do stop by and pick up a pelt!
Good luck in the Hunt...
