Gary,
Looks like we are in the same boat. We have been battered by a cyclone
(hurricane) as it made landfall around 30 kms from Chennai last night.
Neela and I just squeaked back home from Varanasi last evening, as our
flight was one of the last to land in Chennai at 5pm. Anyway, the
extreme winds have dropped a lot, and all is well here.

While I have a lot of respect for people who can cope with that much snow year after year, I certainly wouldn¡¯t do it for even one winter.
