KB Scale/Roy Link wagons, A little extra weight?

Hello All,

Can anyone advise if the KB Scale wagon kits benefit from adding a little extra weight for improved running, or is it not necessary?

Is there a target axle weight that anyone works to?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

Neil.

Yes they do, they are too light without weight. A square of lead sheet under the floor or in the skip or mine car body will help roadholding.

I have added some lead to my ones as they tend to fall over when you tip them.

I have added thin strips of lead to the underside of my flat and open wagons.? Fixed to the floor wither side of the central chassis member but thin enough to clear the back of the wheels.? I have added very thin lead sheet to the inside of skip bodies but I don’t tip mine.? You might be able to add some liquid lead to the underside of the frames but it would be a fiddle.

?

A rake of three tub wagons weighs 30g so about 10g per wagon.

?

Cheers, Robin
