18 January - Trent Valley Area Group Members (open) Day
For anyone wondering, I can confirm there will be at least (probably only, actually) one O14 layout at the Trent Valley Area Group's open day this coming Saturday 18 Jan. Visiting O14 locos/stock welcome, though locos of 3+axles may only have two or three feet to stretch their wheels in. Expecting to have both DC and DCC power. |
Well done Simon, I have flown the flag for 014 at the Trent Valley event 2 years ago but this year will be with my standard gauge Microsoft Coxheath Ridings on probably it's last outing.? Look forward to seeing you and your layout. David On Sun, 12 Jan 2020, 15:27 Simon Jones, <simon@...> wrote:

Hi Frank, Coxheath Sidings was mainly built in Canada, named after the district in Cape Breton where we lived at the time so nothing Anglo-Saxon about it other than being a British setting. It is now DCC. It has its own thread on RmWeb:? David On Tue, 14 Jan 2020 at 14:51, Frank Sharp via Groups.Io <frank.j.sharp=[email protected]> wrote:

Looks a good line up. wish I could be there. Just a small point of order - as agreed the correct term is "O14" - especially on this forum.

I am doing some modelling with small 3ft gauge prototypes in 21mm gauge. Alex Bingley has 3D printed a small wagon frame, based on a Torrington & Marland 10ft length wagon [Ted Davies' drawing] but would also suit the Southwold open wagons, using Slaters 14mm wheels. I'll take delivery at the Trent Valley show and he's happy to print them for anyone else.
