18 January - Trent Valley Area Group Members (open) Day

For anyone wondering, I can confirm there will be at least (probably only, actually) one O14 layout at the Trent Valley Area Group's open day this coming Saturday 18 Jan.

It's my embryonic compact taster layout, track based on RCL track components and includes a couple tight of Type 1 curves.

Visiting O14 locos/stock welcome, though locos of 3+axles may only have two or three feet to stretch their wheels in. Expecting to have both DC and DCC power.

Cheers
Simon

Well done Simon,
I have flown the flag for 014 at the Trent Valley event 2 years ago but this year will be with my standard gauge Microsoft Coxheath Ridings on probably it's last outing.?
Look forward to seeing you and your layout.

David

Whilst not quite o14, for those who enjoy a scale two foot between their rails, Bob Harper will be bringing part of his latest on2 1/4” scale layout to Mickleover.

Cheers,
Andrew

Chipping in on the O14 front…..

?

  • I will have a 14mm gauge Darjeeling loco that needs a test run. Works on tight curves but with a hellish overhang
  • Samples of printed track for O14
  • And, just maybe, something else O14 to show

Hi Frank,

Coxheath Sidings was mainly built in Canada, named after the district in Cape Breton where we lived at the time so nothing Anglo-Saxon about it other than being a British setting. It is now DCC. It has its own thread on RmWeb:?

Looks a good line up. wish I could be there. Just a small point of order - as agreed the correct term is "O14" - especially on this forum.

(I've now corrected the offending messages)

I am doing some modelling with small 3ft gauge prototypes in 21mm gauge. Alex Bingley has 3D printed a small wagon frame, based on a Torrington & Marland 10ft length wagon [Ted Davies' drawing] but would also suit the Southwold open wagons, using Slaters 14mm wheels. I'll take delivery at the Trent Valley show and he's happy to print them for anyone else.
