开云体育Hopefully these two photos add a bit of context to my description.? To make transport easier for the aluminium sections they are left plain and I rely on crude carpentry/gaffa tape to locate them on the trestles.? You could probably come up with something more elegant for a semi-permanent installation. ? My plastic trestles were a bit low so I didn’t use the notches to locate the aluminium and used a simple wooden attachment to gain a bit of height. ? ? Cheers, Robin ? I adopted Trevor Hughes’ idea from his “Crowsnest” exhibition layout for my own exhibition layout and while I know your application is fixed, some of the ideas might give food for thought. ? I have two trestles with two 2.4m lengths of 100mm x 25mm aluminium hollow square section bar that span the trestles and support the boards.? Up until recently I used two steel height adjustable trestles but for the last couple of shows I have switched to lighter plastic trestles.? They are not adjustable as I have never used that function but they are lighter and don’t make as much noise in car during transport! ? At the last show someone remarked “aluminium? What a good idea and it’s probably cheaper than timber now”.? I think you could get quite large spans and the limiting aspect may well prove to be access.? It could be difficult getting more than about a 3m length into your house but you wouldn’t need as many upright supports.? Height adjustable trestles might work but you might prefer some purpose built wooden supports.? However, with fewer supports it might be easier to increase the height of each one. ? It is a shame I am just a bit too far away as you would be welcome to try my metal trestles and aluminium bar to experiment with height. ? Cheers, Robin ? |
