Re: Slater's 2'9" Lynton & Barnstaple Driving Wheels

David White is the MD of Slater's and was at Bristol 0 Gauge Guild exhibition with the Slater's stand last Sunday. If I recall correctly, there was another David (I can't remember his surname: too many of us around) who did many of the wheels, including those for the first batch of 7mm L&B carriages, but who left a year or more ago. I was told this when I queried the 14mm wheel back-to-backs being not too accurate.
Not sure where that leaves 16mm scale kits.

For those of you that might be interested, I was recently speaking with David White from Slater’s and he mentioned they have a new wheel type they are doing for there Lynton & Barnstaple Manning Wardle kit, the wheels themselves screw onto the axles.
Below is a copy of David’s email to me in regards to these new wheels,

Interesting - I was told at a recent visit to Slater's exhibition stand that "there won't we any new 16mm scale narrow gauge kits because David White did all the work on these and he has now left Slaters".

So is this story completely untrue or just partly so?? And if partly true, in which way?
