I’ve had my US cleaner a year now but not really got to grips with it. Am I expecting too much for a 20 minute clean on 60 degrees to be enough to get a chassis clean enough and decreased to take a dip in Casey’s gun blue? ?I am using Ultrasil solution. I rinsed well then dunked the chassis. Half went patchy black and half stayed stubbornly nickel coloured.?
Is this the best solution? Do I need a solvent degrease as well? ?Very little written about ultrasonic cleaners and solutions etc in the model press over the years.?
Also, many have advocated sand blasting. I cannot make it work! Also the instructions for Phoenix etch primer tell you NOT to abrade the surface.?
Help from the experts please, I know that we had a similar discussion with Roy a few years ago on the Yahoo group but need a fresh opinion.?
