During the day, i managed to copy several stations in 20 meters and even connect to some of them. I discovered that the packet mode on the FT-5000 is too much narrow and even 50HZ of deviation can block the reception. I switched to LSB and all worked fine. i hope to ear some traffic from the US, but i cannot leave the FT-5000 switched on for days. I will prepare a cable for the FT-857 and plan to use it for aprs in vhf and packet in HF.
