Hi, I am also in NJ area and can help test 20m kd2yck-7, beacons ever few minutes The offset is 1700Hz, in my case I run 1500 center, and +200 ISF shift and a BW of about 500Hz or less. Also perhaps add spread demodulators may help, as a lot of stations especially with older rigs can be off frequency. That allows me to switch from packet to other modes easily without having to adjust rig (ISF I do from flrig easily, just set to 200). If it's just trouble connecting/holding a link, check your ptt control times, like tx delay, etc - because sometimes audio and ptt are out sync enough to chop the packet on air, or cut off the start of a reply back if those packet level params are not good from your setup. Technically you can run Packet HF LSB or USB (inverted) but for older hardware or by convention the default is LSB mode for the rig. Some people run USB from the lower frequency upwards to run multiple modes in-same band plan. robust packet etc. BTW 20m should be good in the day, later on or overnight, try 40m 7104 LSB also, for more local stations, as 20m will probably close up, especially over winter overnight. Feel free to try to connect to my node that has various services, if you can hear it and reach it. Happy to give signal report if I do see you on air. Good luck, all the best, Louis / kd2yck On Tue, 14 Jan 2025 at 13:12, Thomas Testa via <TMTLU3=[email protected]> wrote:
