Re: Sorry Folks, This is THE END
It's back to "normal" (at least for now). I hate it when idiots think they have to change something just to make it look more "flashy". [Of course, I like the warm glow of a nixie tube better than the

Re: Let's all make the jump.
Not so quick, grasshopper! Before making any sort of move, I think that we need to discuss whether we want to be at the mercy of another large corp, in this case Google. Google is well known for

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
That's why people are suggesting current sharing diodes. Several people mentioned 1k, which may or may not be sufficient. But since you have series resistance anyway (the anode resistor), the logical

At the moment its just me - if AJ gives me a list of all the email addresses of the members, I'll add them in bulk. One advantage of people actually sending a membership request, is that the "dead

Let's all make the jump.
Before YAHOO jerks us around again, let's all move over to the neonixie-L group on Google. I just looked, it looks like it would be a fairly seamless transition. All our recent messages are posted

What about Per's objecion that it would make one module supply the whole current? Hmm I don't know, his name was Kory Krofft, ma

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
What I'd probably do is put a diode (the diode isn't critical, any diode that can support the voltage and current is fine since it's working with DC) and a resistor on each one. Since you're powering

Hmm I would like to have them be fully adjustable, that is why I have a 5K high precision pot connected to one module that I currently use. Any workaround for two? I could use a stereo pot, but they

Assuming you'll continue to moderate, I can host the list on my MailMan system. Just say the word and I can have it set up in a few minutes. One good thing about neon-john.com, it'll be there as long

There are no changes evident here too. I run two other groups and they look the same as they ever have. Perhaps it's being done country by country, or has anyone else in the UK already experienced a

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
Yes. No, do not connect the V_adj. pins in parallel, strange things can happen. Program them indenpently with your resistors or jumpers or whatever is used to program them. // Per.

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
Thanks for the enlightening words, I really appreciate it. OK so we think it is safe to connect the modules in parallel over a 1K resistor each. How about their V_adj pins? I.e. where the

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
Well, a power supply won't be hurt putting a voltage equal, or lower at it's output. Imagine a power supply module like your Traco one, placing a capacitor at it's output actually does the same - the

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
Hmm in parallel without diodes? I thought it would be a good idea to use a diode, because when you connect outputs of logic gates you also use diodes, I always thought that diodes are used so that no

Re: Nixie Tube Power Supply tips
Connect them in parallel with a resistor, not a diode. If the two supplies are just 0,1 volt different, and the diodes does not have the exact same voltage drop (not two one have this, they are temp.

Re: Sorry Folks, This is THE END
Brian, You just need to locate the cookie associated with this group, save it as a file and then tell wget to use that file with the connection. I've done it before on various sites and it works well.
