Re: Current requirements for direct driven 6 tube B7971 Nixie Clock
Thanks for the estimated current draw for a 6 tube B7971 Nixie Clock. 17.5 mA x 6 = 105 mA These seems like a lot compared to the* **IN-18 Nixies which can run with ~ 4mA/tube* However, the tens of

Re: Current requirements for direct driven 6 tube B7971 Nixie Clock
Here's a past message about current uasge of this tube: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEONIXIE-L/message/28275 And here's a Burroughs catalog with data on the tube (see page 9):

Re: Socket Types
If these are the tubes in question: http://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/084/z/Z573M.pdf Then they have wire leads. Why not trim an solder them into 14-pin DIP sockets. The good "screw machined" type, like

Re: Socket Types
No sockets. Solder them in place with a spacer. You can even use seed beads if you're too lazy to make a spacer. The Z570-Z574 are 24ga wire lead tubes, and are intended for soldering only. /Barrett

My TI MSP430 Launchpad eval kits arrived today. The URL in the enclosed doc is wrong. You have to search the TI site for the correct one.
