When I logged in, this morning (in Los Angeles, same time zone as Yahoo), I noticed they switched back to the old format. I suspect that they got flooded by a mass of angry responses. An internet version of the angry mob:
I guess every generation of 'script kiddies' has to learn this lesson. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Innovation is great, but have the people come to you, don't force it upon them.
Google seems (cross my fingers) to know this, and has kept their main page very simple for all these years. They don't fill it full of crap, with ads all over the place from advertisers, that have fancy 100MB ads that are fed from an old '386 server, at 2 bits/minute, and it won't let you do anything until the ad is fully uploaded.
Yahoo is doomed, and I ain't crying.
