a little confusion in vision between 0 and 8 on the display 2
Hi May be not a very objective vision, it seems to mee that there is a little confusion in vision between 0 and 8 on the display, with SEESII H4 + DiSlord 1.2.40 , I prefer a simple 0 graphic display without the strike symbol , it will make the screen easier . Thanks 73's Nizar .

NanoVNA port renormalization 47
NanoVNA has a port renormalization function (called Port Z, see DISPLAY->PORT Z: 50) that allows you to see the measured S parameters at other port impedances. But since NanoVNA is only available for measuring S11 and S21 parameters, the following assumptions are made for renormalization: S22 = S11 and S12 = S21, i.e. the DUT is symmetrical. To simplify the calculations, a non-complex impedance value is used and the new impedance of both ports is the same. And now the question is to what extent it is necessary to make calculations for different values ??of port impedance, because then the DUT is not symmetrical?? and the assumption that the S22 = S11 and S12 = S21 are equal is not true. Or this can be useful?

NanoVNA-H4 3
I have a NanoVNA-H4, I have no problems checking antenna SWR etc. But what I want to do now is to check the performance of a "Diplexor" You know one of these things that splits/combines a 2 meter and 440 antenna into one common output. You know one of these. https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dmn-mx72d?seid=dxese1&srsltid=AfmBOorYLOCQdZje08Kz0wOkDVIXNgAUhA_L0yFz09dCrJpwlHKyHOy7b_g <https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dmn-mx72d?seid=dxese1&srsltid=AfmBOorYLOCQdZje08Kz0wOkDVIXNgAUhA_L0yFz09dCrJpwlHKyHOy7b_g> I want to measure the insertion losses for each band. and then the amount of isolation between the bands. Can anyone show me a video on how to do this? OR give me a step by step on how to do it? Joe WB9SBD

After firmware update my nano-vna-h is behaving bizarrely. 3
After calibrating after upgrading to new firmware NanoVNA-H.v1.2.40.dfu from dsilord, the nano vna is showing what seems to be crazy flickering SWR values even after recalibrating and trying to find any setup that needs to be repeated. Is this a known thing? Is it indicative that my device, labelled Nano-VNA-H and running a slightly earlier DSILord 1.2.x (1.2.30 I think) should go back to 1.2.30? Warren VA7 WPX

Smith Chart acting up in calibration 16
On my H4, I recently started having a problem calibrating. During cal the smith chart is sweeping wildly displaying a lot of straight angled lines about the cursor. In the end the cal fails as evidence by measuring the cal standards. This started after flashing firmware to H4 dislord 1.2.40 though I suppose it could be coincidental. I opened it and checked for cracked solder joints but didnt see any. Then I flashed it a few more times, testing in between, and finally after 2-3 attempts it started behaving normally again. Has anyone else seen this before? Maybe I had some setting botched? Bryan, N0LUF

Nanovna-h and Windows 11 4
Apologies for the repeat of an ongoing topic. As a recent purchase I am banging my head against the wall attempting to update the firmware for my nanovna-h. I have no issues configuring and using it to undertake SWR for my antennas. However, when attempting to update the DFU file, my windows 11 device manager immediately shows the device disappear and still in the DFUSE software the device does not exist. Is anyone able to provide a step by step approach of the key drivers etc...and the order of installation that I need to go through to finally get this device updated. Thank you, Pete

NanoVNA and FY6XXX generator 9
HI to all I own a FY6900 device, a cheap but very complete generator (mine is the model working up to 60mHz). Till now I've used it only with an oscilloscope, but I would like to employ also with a NanoVNA Anyone has done so? I think should be very useful for my tests (i.e. building filters). Thanks for any suggestion 73 Gabriele, I4JXE

SWR Question 24
When I am constructing an antenna, I have been using this device to plot the swr in my shop. I usually set a wide enough bandwidth to easily see the dip at resonance. In the shop, connecting this device directly to the SO239 connector, the sweep on the screen is perfect. But in testing with the antenna installed with coax, and testing at the end of the feed line, the sweep seems strange. See attached

Stimulus Span change a bit the Smith measurement 28
Hi All SEESII H4 + 1.2.40 measuring a Ferrit inductance gives a little different values depend on stimulus span selected : 50Khz..30Mhz (calibrated with same load 401 point) ---> 0.100 Ohm + j 26.88 Ohm ==> Q = 268 13.5Mhz .. 14.5Mhz (calibrated with same load 401 point) ---> 0.200 Ohm + j 26.88 Ohm ==> Q= 134 NanoVNA-F gives same for both stimulus spans but ---> 0.400 Ohm + j 26.88 Ohm ==> Q= 67 can you explaine that , and which is the more accurate measurement ?? it's important to decide which inductance have the better Q coeff Thanks 73's Nizar

NanoVNA-H4 number screen malfunctioning 5
I have a NanoVNA-H4 which has been working for months. Today I needed to test a broadcast band filter and when I try to enter any number on the number screen (for setting stimulus start/end etc.) the screen goes fully white. All other functions of the NanoVNA seem to be working fine, only the touchscreen is bad. I've re-done the touchscreen calibration (which works normally), saved it, and done the touchscreen test which doesn't indicate any problem -- I can drag the guitar pick up, down, right, left, and diagonally in any part of the screen and it looks fine. I see in searching for this problem many people have had touchscreen issues, but none just like this. I will try flashing a different version of the firmware (this is Dislord's 1.2.40) and following that if needed I'll disassemble the case to inspect the ribbon cable. Any other suggestions?

Extra QEX copy 2
Does anyone want a copy of the January/February 2025 issue of QEX? The ARRL sent me two copies. It has the tinySA tracking generator design article in it. Of so *respond to me privately* at kc0wjn at gmail dot com Responses to the list will be ignored. The magazine is free; shipping cost from 32754 USA to be paid to me by PayPal F&F (the shipping cost using USPS Media Mail is probably trivial). DaveD KC0WJN

SWR readings change when NanoVNA is held 18
When using my NanoVNA to adjust length of a 20m hamstick, the readings kept changing depending on what the NanoVNA was sitting on (truck hood, pelican case, my thigh, or in my hand). How do I get a reliable reading that I can count on for a properly adjusted antenna? Thanks, Coyote Sent with [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/mail/home) secure email.

Set marker to specific frequency 4
Hi all, is there a method to set a marker to a specific frequency, by numerically entering the frequency? I searched through the menus and manual but could not find anything. When operating with desktop VNAs I often set markers to specific frequencies, e.g. 2.4GHz, 2.45GHz, 2.485GHz to check the VSWR of an 2.4GHz antenna at the lower and upper bound and the center of the band, to quickly characterize the antenna over the whole band. By punching in the frequencies, the markers are quickly set. Using the rocker switch to set the markers on the NanoVNA takes a lot longer. If this is currently not possible, this may be a useful future feature if others find it helpful too. Thanks!
