hard reset?
#crash
Is there such a thing as a hard reset? A real switch somewhere, not the screen? Maybe remove battery and reinstall?
My nanovna-h with ver 0.4.5-1 gfbbceca was working ok, occasional hang but on off had cleared it before. Now what happens is there is a very long boot Eventually the screen comes up and I get the display, marker, stim, etc bar on right but it is inconsistent responding to screen touches, one time it got me into cal mode but would not take any input. maybe time for a firmware reload? I have not done that at all. I've been using it just like it came from the factory. build date dec 26, 2019. on the left I have c4 D R S |
Sounds like you've got something pressing constantly on the touchscreen.?
Remove the front cover over the LCD and see if the unit turns on ok.? On Sat, 5 Sep 2020 at 9:43 PM, diyer<m240zz@...> wrote: Is there such a thing as a hard reset?? I took the case apart and it turns out there is a small frame molded into the top case that encircles the lcd. In my case that small frame was a bit too thick. So the solution was to take a dremel tool and reduce the thickness a small ammount. Not sure how common this problem, but I would suspect that it is.

I have a nanoVNA H4. When I first got it, it appeared to work OK Then the screen froze. We updated to Dislord ...39, and it was working again - for a while. Now the screen flashes on switch on and then goes blank - except for "Pa" on the left side of the screen and across the bottom of the screen "CENTRE 450.825 000 MHz" gap "bw1000Hz 401p" gap "SPAN 899.950 000 MHz" Note " delineates what is written".
When it is switched on. the blue LED flashes and the screen flashes then the text appears down the left hand side and across the bottom. I have re-flashed the firmware without any result. I note that sometimes there is reported to be 2 RED LED's and sometimes there is one RED and one BLUE on different batches of the H4. I have the impression that only the blue led machines are having trouble. What is the opinion of this observation ? |
This sounds more to me like what happens when the screen is getting

pressure from the case, causing display problems. Have you tried to remove the top of the case to see if it works normally? I have never had such a problem from my "blue LED" H4. Which hardware version is yours? (from the label on the back) Stan On Thu, Jan 12, 2023 at 2:58 PM <philip01@...> wrote:

Thanks for your prompt reply. HW version? 4.3_MS Made by ZeenKo in China I have undone, the 4 screws holding the 2 parts to try booting with the boot pins shorted. Didn't make any difference. I think I checked booting with the cover loose but I will double check. I have to go visiting now, will check replies when? get home. Thank you for your? thoughts Stan. You do have the MS firmware, correct? You can switch modes under Config:Expert Settings if you loaded the wrong one. On Thu, Jan 12, 2023 at 4:51 PM Philip Webb <philip01@...> wrote:
