NanoVNA V2
I have just received my V2 from Tinder after 40 days waiting. Question: 1. What type of LiPo 3v battery is best for this unit? Can you point me to a source in N.A? 2. Does anyone have a case design

Re: Nanovna on Zorin OS
Jon-G0MYW here is a link to a 7zip file with two scripts a readme.txt and a pdf. Instructions are in the Readme.txt file for installation. This has been tested on LinuxMint 19.3, Ubuntu 20.04, and

Re: Nanovna on Zorin OS
Jon, others, I successfully installed NanoVNA Saver under Ubuntu 18.04 using a hybrid of two approaches found on the web. The repository installation instructions are not sufficient for 18.04. I

#nanovna-v2
Hello, I ordered the nanovna V2 (3GHZ) 2 weeks ago, so far I did not get it. I would like to develop a wifi front-end to this equipment, but I have problem with compiling the source under linux mint.

Re: Nanovna on Zorin OS
py2mta, I'd be interested in how you get on with this. I've spent a few hours trying to get this to work on Zorin/Ubuntu with no luck. I eventually gave in and dug out an old MS/Win laptop, (I much

Re: Calibration quick one
Hi John That is true, however we have so many new users here and those that don¡¯t really understand the inner workings of this VNA, that a golden rule for this forum, as Dave did, is surely

So its better to have a few small calibrated sweeps rather than the whole spectrum? Cheers Kev 73s MM0KJG

Re: Calibration quick one
Dave, I wouldn't say the wide band calibration is useless in all situations. The interpolation works pretty well when phase change vs frequency is slow, as is the case with short cables. Component

Sorry guys and gals: How many times must this point be made? ????????????? Resolution (point-to-point spacing) = Frequency Range / 101. Not using external

Re: Calibration quick one
Not needed systematically if you use nanovna-saver. If you do a calibration between 1 and 900 Mhz with 20 segments (for instance) this makes 20X101 points = 2020 points or 1 point every 450 khz

Re: What does S21 mean in this context?
You would do a bit better to cap the second port with the 50-ohm load. S21 or S12 are not involved in what you are doing. Any reading is due to crosstalk and lack of shielding and proper decoupling

Re: Calibration quick one
Since the NanoVNA only has 101 point sweeps, when you calibrate from1 to 900 MHz, you have calibrated points every 8.9 MHz. So, suppose you wanted to sweep a 7 MHz bandpass filter for a 40 meter rig

Re: What does S21 mean in this context?
S21 isn't used in your antenna tuning context. You can turn off this trace to avoid confusion, unless you like the "modern art" it produces on the screen. The USB C port doesn't need to speak "To-Go"

Re: Calibration quick one
Answer: YES. When the range changes, calibration must be performed. The number of calibration / measurement points is 101 on the basic unit. 73, Gyula HA3HZ -- *** read more on this site (

Re: What does S21 mean in this context?
Your photo shows S21 phase on the display. This is the phase of the (weak) S21 leakage. If you change it to magnitude, you will see the leakage signal strength. When using the VNA as an antenna
