Re: Upgrade firmware through STM32Cube Programmer
1 - I recommend getting to know your nanovna, and using it for awhile before upgrading the firmware. The firmware you have is older, but will work fine. Newer firmware has new features, but the most

Re: Source for replacement SMA-SMA cables?
All good advice. For my use cases, my concern with cable "quality" is really with ruggedness rather than precise electrical characteristics.
What I take from your note is that it is not worth paying

Re: Source for replacement SMA-SMA cables?
That fake RG316 that I mentioned measures just fine on my Nano, that is not
the issue.
The real issue is that those cables are generally made under lower
standards. Intermittent
faults are not

Consider how S parameters are normally given; that is either in polar or rectangular coordinates; and what do those co-ordinates describe? They describe complex impedances!! Those impedances can stay

Re: Source for replacement SMA-SMA cables?
For a cheap and relatively inaccurate device as nanoVNA (however useful it is!:? i own 4), any coaxial cable will do, as long
as it is short compared to the wavelength of the frequencies you want to

From my experience, right angle SMA connectors are much more durable, because the center pin can't move.

I was describing what the parameter is in "mechanical" terms. If you wan't
the
actual definition, it is the reflection coefficient.

NanoVNA-App is, for me, the best PC program I have found for my NanoVNA V2 (SAA2).
I can view 3 plots or more at once. Most formats available in professional software are also available in

Well actually no, S22 means the impedance looking in to what could be considered the Output port of the UUT (not possible to measure on a NanoVNA without reversing the UUT).
S11 is the impedance

What test set up does the service manual use?
Be aware that the vna is 50 ohms in and out and might be loading the filter.
Set the start and stop frequencies much wider so that the whole of the filter

No. S22 means that the energy came from port 2 and was reflected back to
port 2.
