Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
I've done that on the theory that the NVNA approximated the size and ground plane of a Baofeng HT. I was able to determine that the cheap tri-band whip sold by one of the recent names in the business

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
I use my H to evaluate handheld antennas with an adapter connected to the S11 connector and hold it like it was a handheld. I usually touch the ground at the connector and I get pretty decent readings

Re: My Win 11 machine does not recognize the Nanovna H4 in DFU mode. #nanovna-h4
Thanks for the reply Roger! Well, I am not a computer tech. Finally figured out that win 10 drivers would work and there is driver loading software in the 64 bit H4 zip file. I upgraded to DIslords v

Re: i need help , NANA VNA-H
Did you install DFUSe demo? It installs the driver. If you are getting a flag then you can manually update the driver by right clicking and then pointing to the DFUse directory where the driver is

Re: DiSlord v1.2.0 instability even though MS5351 clock-generator is selected (MS-3.6 HW version)
So - I am happy to report that new 1.2.14 FW has solved the issue completely ! Thanks for the support :D Cheers C

The -h dings when i go into dfu boot mode , the device manager has a flag on it to upgrade driver. The issue , is simple , i reset on the software VNAsaver . 40 version for this example . i set up the

Re: cable extensions etc.
I get all of my connectors and feedline from RF Connection (www.rfconnection.com). Joes, W3RFC, has top quality products and he supports the ham community. You can see him at every hamfest in the

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
Thanks again :-) I've just read it. As there is no guarantee that I will be able to make repeatable measurements I will buy H model for now, make some tests with ground planes, tiger tails and

Tish, This topic was discussed a while ago in this group. I suggest you read the posts in the link below. /g/nanovna-users/topic/80995721#21095 Roger

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
Hello, I have both. I have retired the H and now exclusively use the H4. More points to check a frequency range. As far as requiring a metal case, I have compared my H in metal case, and the H4. The

Mine too. It got so boringly stable that I sometimes booted it for (small) fun

There is now Google group for NanoVNA 2 and 3. You might want look at there too. Then there is this https://nanorfe.com/nanovna-v2.html

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
Thank you very much Roger taking your time for explaining me all of that. Let's say that I will manage to make repeatable measurement on nanoVNA, so without PC, keeping it in the same position and off

Re: Anything for Windows 7?
My XP installation was extremely stable. I don't remember any crash caused by XP. But faulty application programs could indeed crash the whole machine. The technique to achieve a highly reliable XP

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
If you are referring to testing "rubber duck" antennas for hand held transmitters you need to be aware of a few things. The "rubber duck" is only half of the antenna system. The other half is the

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
It all depends on the antenna. If you have a dipole, which is a balanced antenna, and you connect it directly to an unbalanced transmission line (like coax) the outer surface of the coax shield is

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
Are there any advantages of faster CPU, more memory in H4 (vs H) model for occasional use? I have good eyesight so 2.8" doesn't bother me. SD Card is a plus (but not worth the price difference). Does

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.6 vs NanoVNA-H4 v4.3 for SWR measurements
My idea for use of NanoVNA was for checking cheap (chinese) antennas for HH, that I have available locally, to get more or less precise SWR reading. As I am grateful for explaining difference between

Re: My Win 11 machine does not recognize the Nanovna H4 in DFU mode. #nanovna-h4
When you put the NanoVNA into DFU mode and plug it in do you hear the "bing" from Windows that it recognizes the device. If you look in Device manager under USB devices do you see that device is in
