No Horizontal Indication
I am trying to use my NANOVNA for the first time. I have gone through the calibration process several times. I believe the unit is calibrated, but when I turn it on I do not get the typical horizontal

Re: Question
What counts is the impedance present at the transceiver antenna jack. You do the measurements WITH the uncalibrated cable connected. Calibrating the anenna alone is a nice game, but actually it is

Re: We started selling SAA2 with N-type RF connector and 4-inch display
SMA connectors (as opposed to 3.5 mm connectors) have extremely thin walls and are therefore very intolerant of bending forces and/or overtightening. Many are the times when I see someone stacking up

Re: Best deal for current version NanoVNA
R&L Electronics ( http://www.randl.com/shop/catalog/index.php ) is a good US source of NanoVNA products. They sell the NanoVNA-H, NanoVNA-H4, and NanoVNA SAA2. The price delivered to a US address is

Re: We started selling SAA2 with N-type RF connector and 4-inch display
I work in a radio shop and not a RF Lab and all the test equipment is either N or BNC. SMA is unusual and seen as a flimsy connection. I also will place my order doon. Actually placed it a couple

Re: Question
Rich N1EE, That looks and sounds great. My feed-point will be about 35' (~11 meters) off the ground and the entire length of antenna will stay at about that height across a tree or 2 off the top

Best deal for current version NanoVNA
There seem to be a million variations, prices and knock offs. Could someone please point me to the latest version at a good price from a reputable outlet in the US of A. I sure appreciate it, 73 Steve

Re: Question
Jim, Thank you so much for the detailed response, VERY helpful. My problem though is, once I put the antenna up, I will really NOT be able to get to the feed point easily. I have to install

Re: We started selling SAA2 with N-type RF connector and 4-inch display
Maybe for flight hardware "out of an abundance of caution" on some particular program, but I can assure you that many, many SMA connectors at NASA have seen hundreds of mate demate cycles,

Re: We started selling SAA2 with N-type RF connector and 4-inch display
The rule at NASA regarding SMA connectors (at least when I worked for them): After 20 connects / disconnects, remove them and discard them (or take them home, never to be seen again). They are not

I've held off writing a reply, but enough...... Amateur radio is a hobby, NOT a metrology lab!!! 51.13....... ¦¸...So what!!?? What is the error bar on this single measurement? Measure with 30 DMM's

SD card and autosave on SAA 2 ?
Has the SAA 2 VNA the feature to store measurement on an onboard SD-card?? In yes, can I hope that an auto-save option (automatically saving measurements every n seconds) will be available, too? As I

Re: Poor Quality 50 Ohm Load - Where to get accurate ones?
Hello, I measured the supplied '50 ohm' load with my DVM. When my two test leads are shorted together, the DVM measures 0 .000 ohms. Thanks for all of the input. It's now time for new subjects....

Re: Poor Quality 50 Ohm Load - Where to get accurate ones?
It's been a few months since I watched those 2 W0QE videos, but I seem to remember the 2 100's had a wider frequency response than using either 1 or 4 resistors. He duplicated the results of another

Re: We started selling SAA2 with N-type RF connector and 4-inch display
I would agree. Virtually every piece of test equipment in the lab at work has an N to SMA adapter on it. And we curse people when they get borrowed.
