Re: Newbie NanoVNA question regarding calibration
Generator threshold value must be less then default 300M, need more detail see work in range 270 - 300M (reset calibration and see in this range)
From there threshold start problem. After write it to CONFIG->EXPERT SETTING->THRESHOLD After need save CONFIG->SAVE CONFIG |
Re: Newbie NanoVNA question regarding calibration
Here at the pics. The green lines are moving. You have no trace information or markers displayed. See the orange box below to see what I mean. If you did a software update you might need to do a Clear Config to flush out the old settings. It is under the expert settings and if you need a password it is 1234 Roger |
Re: Newbie NanoVNA question regarding calibration
try to do your sweeps with some averaging (means more points/values per measure point are takern and interpolated) ... that make the curves more even

you even can do the calib with high avg .. and measure then with lower avg (on none at all) are your connectors tight?? what cable do you use?? are those values jumping around if you move cables a bit (wiggle on them)??? that you have those waves at the lower end and straight lines on the rest of the scan is not normal dg9bfc sigi Am 30.08.2022 um 19:11 schrieb TE Dukes: Thanks!! |

Thanks!!
I watched the video and did the calibration along with the guy. My menus are a little different than his. I don't have the choice of 'CORRECTION'. I think the equivalent on mine is 'Apply". Anyway, the points are where they are supposed to be BUT I have green lines coming out of each point jumping around. Pretty sure its not supposed to be doing that. Any ideas? Thanks |

What I'm wanting to do is to check a dupexler I have coming in the next week or so to make sure its tuned close the frequencies I requested. My first guess is that the frequency range used for calibration is different than the frequency range used for the measurement. |
Re: Newbie NanoVNA question regarding calibration
I suggest you use the nanoVNA in stand-alone mode (without a PC) in order to test it out.
Do a calibration over a wide range like 50 kHz. to 900 MHz. and then check it using the cal loads and the Smith Chart. Short should be a dot on far left of horizontal axis 50 ohm load should be a dot in center of Smith chart Open should be a dot on far right of horizontal axis Watch this video for the complete procedure. I noticed that coloured screenshots look strange (see second screenshot). Is there a workaround for this? |

Linux was released in 1991, RH came a few years later.

Thanks for the info. Never been one to go with the latest and the greatest. Been running RedHat Linux since about 1991. I always go with 'stable'.
