Re: New version of NanoVNA-Saver: 0.2.1
Hi Rudi
The ZPlots has facilities as mentioned before to calculate Z0 as function of Frequency base on measurement of an open and shorted cable. Here is the result for the 33cm cable we are discussing. As you see there is interesting "bumps" along the frequency axe due to switching to harmonic modes for the NanoVNA Kind regards Kurt -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: [email protected] <[email protected]> P? vegne af reuterr@... I have 3 questions: 1. Where did you subtract the length (20 cm) ? 2. Did you mean that the S11 phase oscillation curve (about sinus) horizontal center line should be minimised to a straight line and not be bowed? 3. Did you mean with the change of Z0 to connect a resistor of 50 Ohm at the end of the 22 cm coax cable? And then vary this resistor in 0.1 Ohm steps to minimise the amplitude of the phase oscillation amplitude? I mean your file "NanoVNA supplied cable 50K to 500MHz.png" in post 7877 at 2019-12-05 20:10. In this screen shot there are 2 diagrams with S11 Phase. When I try to get a similar diagram with a 30 cm RG174 coax cable with open end I get see attached screen shot nanoVNA-saver_RG174-30cm-open-end.png 73, Rudi DL5FA |
Re: connector swap
Hi Paul,
if N is an alternative for you: N provides much better accurate quality for higher frequencies than BNC. See pics: The (slightly hot air bent) extended PE board permits hand isolation: Often a suitable balun for avoiding body ground errors is not needed. 73, Hans DJ7BA -----Urspr¨¹ngliche Nachricht----- Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von paul larner Gesendet: Sonntag, 8. If you want to move a marker, put your finger or stylus on the trace, and without lifting it, drag left or right. The important bit being "without lifting it". If you lift your finger or stylus, you make a tap instead and that brings up the menu. If you save your current calibration and range selection to slot 0, it will be loaded when you power on. If you don't want to save to slot 0, save it to another slot and load from that slot via the menu after powering up. The slots save more than just the calibration settings. Re: USB cable
1. Is there a newer version of the VNA Saver software? To check for newer offerings, I go to /g/nanovna-users/wiki .. then search for software .. then firmware |
Re: connector swap
Why not? But i dont think they wil fit or the case wil be a lot

seems to me the vna saver is iffy,i get a smith chart with only the trace displayed ie none of the circle markings, its like the trace is in thin air,any ideas?,on my lappy the creed display just jitters all over, mentioned this a few times but lagley seems to be ignorred!

NanoVNA Saver software version 0.2.1 TDR operation
I have one more question regarding the NanoVNA Saver software
In the TDR display there are two traces, One Red and one blue. I understand the red but not the blue. Would some please give me an explanation of the blue trace? I appreciate any responses. *Clyde K. Spencer* |

I have the VNA Saver 0.2.1 software. I like the features and the operation is somewhat intuitive. I do have a couple questions. 1. Is there a newer version of the VNA Saver software? 2. Reading the user manual posted here It references using the "REAL" mode when looking at the TDR function. I seem to not be able to find that. I would really like to get thisworking 3. I am not sure of my NanoVNA firmware but I think it is QRP 0.4.3. Is there newer firmware? I appreciate all that respond, Clyde KD8AN *Clyde K. Sorry Bob but the stlink won't charge the battery as it's connected to the 3v side of the regulator that runs the micro.?

The picture below shows the ST-Link V2 connector to be routed to a pin row. When you use it with one of your fingers, you gently press it when you are programming. No need to solder. This was the first time I needed this and it worked right away. The RST cable is not needed here. 73, Gyula HA3HZ |

Don't move the marker by touching it.? Use, instead, the multipurpose rocker control at the top.? Rocking it one way or the other will move the marker in use.? To change markers you go to the menu.

Just received my new NanoVNA and beginning to learn how to use it.? I have read the "user guide" but it is not much help with my problems: After I set the menu settings for display, frequency, etc., and start trying to use it, I am having trouble moving the markers to where I want them on the trace. As I go to touch a marker to move it where I want it, the menu comes up automatically on the right and the marker doesn't move. I close the menu and try again with the same result.? Repeated attempts will eventually allow me to move the marker, but it is still problematic. What am I doing wrong or missing? Also, is there a setting where I can tell it to boot back up to my last screen settings, instead of the factory default out to 900 MHz?? This would allow saving the battery when I have to be make extended changes to an antenna and not have to reprogram everything again.
