Re: Place to buy - 600 MHz spike
550-650 MHz scan of semi-bad clone, ch1 logmag, recalibrated with these settings. See attached. QRT Mike

Quick question ; Change the scale
It seems to be 10dB per division. Efforts to change that have been met with frustration. Any advice? Thanks, K7TP

Re: Is anyone working on adding time domain reflectometry (TDR)
Oh yeah, I forgot about that post. The only issue is you need to read with VNA Sharp, then save, then run the saved file through the Python app. It would be nice to just run the Nano directly from a

Re: Is anyone working on adding time domain reflectometry (TDR)
Someone has developed a Python tool to do this, and I believe it looking into adding it to the f/w. https://nuclearrambo.com/wordpress/accurately-measuring-cable-length-with-nanovna/ / Gerry

Re: Place to buy
One quick follow up note: The absolute levels out of the NanoVNA are 30 dB higher than those displayed. I always use a big, 2 watt, 30 dB attenuator as a ¡°condom¡± on the input to my spectrum

Re: Place to buy
Jerry My scope will not do 600 MHz but my spectrum analyzer will. Here is a trace of the S11 output showing two, 100 MHz sweeps centered on: Yellow = 300 MHz and Purple = 600 MHz. The Yellow 250 -

Re: OH! You mean THIS spike?
Fair point, I think I'm running out of steam on it myself. I might have a look with my 'toy' spectrum analyser in a few days. 73 Mike

Re: Place to buy
Hi Jerry My scope isn't up to 600 MHz either. I have an RF Explorer handheld spectrum analyser but that samples the spectrum in a similar way to the nano. Consequently its unlikely to be measuring

Re: Is anyone working on adding time domain reflectometry (TDR)
Dave, What was said about 150 posts back was that we don't need an actual TDR function - anyone can figure out the length using the Logmag function, the coax velocity factor and a calculator. I've

Re: OH! You mean THIS spike?
Mike I do see it. It is much lower level and it disappears sooner when signal is added. I am thinking it is simply a harmonic if the 300 MHz transient. Since neither one has any meaningful effect on

Re: OH! You mean THIS spike?
Looks like my 300 MHz spike is a tad worse than yours as there is still 5dB or so visible when measuring 50dB of attenuation. And I can now see it flips negative at times which as you say seems to

OH! You mean THIS spike?
So it turns out my "worse" unit indeed does have a 300 MH spike and I just never bothered with it until I went looking for it. Here is why. The spike is actually immediately after the 300 MHz point

Is anyone working on adding time domain reflectometry (TDR)
From what I read here the other day, believe TDR exists in some firmware releases, but the person that developed that is breaking the terms of the GPL and not releasing it. I just wondered if anyone

Hi Warren Cancel the comment about temperature and fridge testing. It was late at night here & I was obviously more tired than I thought! What I should have done was to recalibrate while cold. That

Re: Quick compare with HP 8753C...
I think I have discovered the reason for the offset I'm seeing, and it is quite odd. If I do the calibration using the buttons the VNA Sharp software, then I get the offset mentioned. If I do a

I'd like to add: if you think you're saying useful things: consider writing in the wiki, as well. Finding things in old posts is unwieldy at best, and will soon be completely impractical. Den m?n
