Based on the picture, position 3 is for a series component between the in and out connectors, positions 1 and 2 are for shunt components on the input side, and positions 4 and 5 are for shunt

I use one of these for my -F, and it works out very well. The -F, in its original foam-lined plastic box with cables and cal kit, plus a small divider box of adapters, the charger and usb charging
