I am a lurker on the vna list. I just saw your not about field service for DEC. I am retiring 31dec (this week) from AMD. I have been there 4 years. Prior to that I worked for Digital Semiconductor which got bought and sold over time: Intel 2001-2016, HP, Compaq (both less than two years) and DEC directly from 1988. Worked in Hudson (hlo2) on nvax/cvax and then later Alpha within Digital Semiconductor. We transitioned from Alpha to developing Itanium under Intel, and then to supporting various ip's for the various cores of xenon and etc.
I think fondly of my dec days, and have the greatest of affection and respect for Ken Olson.
Those were very good days for me.
