I am just trying to tag along bon this thread to see if I can get some help.
I have the -H version and I have no idea if I should update it or not. I
can't find the information on what the latest version for the H model is.
Any help would be appreciated.

Silly question: You are sure you pressed the button (and it made its
contact) while switching on?
Unfortunately, I can't really suggest anything else, except searching for
flashing/DFU-related things re. "NanoVNA-F V2", "NanoVNA-F" (related).
There used to be a program DFUseDemo or such, now deprecated. There seems
to be a successor (name escapes me ATM). Also, a person called "Alex" has
been present on this group, who seems to be part of Sysjoint.
You may even give the NanoVNA-F V2 groups at Groups.io a try. As you know,
this is actually the wrong group for your problem...
