What (which) antenna is your "sweep my 20' OCF flagpole antenna"?
I've been quite interested in trying one of the 20 ft. telescoping flagpoles. I did see one project plan PDF article by W6NBC where he cut a couple of feet off the bottom of the flagpole and mounted an insulating sleeve between the 2 pieces. Is that what you have?
(And now I've seen relatively inexpensive 30 ft. telescoping flagpoles, too!)
