One problem with using a very wide sweep is that you may miss a narrow resonance. For 101 points from 100kHz to 30MHz the steps are 300kHz, wider than some ham bands.
Doing a calibration is not unduly burdensome and you get quick at it with practice. Then there are 4 or more presets available to store setups.....
