I suggest contacting the group owner of the Facebook group. It's possible that in the process of making the group private, they made some mistakes along the way and lost members unintentionally. You might be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Each group is separate and stands on its own, both on Facebook and in groups.io groups. The only relationship they have is the group purpose. The group owners CAN be the same, but unlikely are the same. So you will have to deal with that group, not any other group. Hopefully you will learn what happened at the very least.
