Re: NanoSaver App and NanoVNA H4 Device

Larry,

Quick update from your response;

Thanks again for the feedback and info Larry. Much appreciated! Apologies for my delay as I found after updating to Ver 1.045 on both my H and H4 devices - (btw - Quite a smooth process!!)

The H device is still showing my dual band 2m/70cm Jpole SWR correctly Flat (under 1.1 -1.3 ) across the band. (Same for the 70cm band) yet the new H4 SWR reading is displaying anywhere from 1.45 - 3.25. Not huge difference yet very noticeable and have re-calc¡¯d several times now with the same Delta¡¯s. This showed up using NanovnaSaver as well as in the standalone setup.

NanoVNA H NanoVNA H4

Using 3 other antenna¡¯s found the same thing. So not sure what is happening and will contact R&L to talk this over with them.

And one last question: is the ¡®Kernel version of 4.0.0¡¯ The same as the ¡®Hardware version¡¯? On the back of the H4, the sticker is indicating HW Version of 4.2

Thanks again for your help and all the great resources this site has! Have a good rest and day tomorrow.

Barry

You've got really old firmware.
Please upgrade both units to 1.0.45.
You'll find the fw in the files section under Dislord.

Good day all,

I just joined the group and thanks for being there!! Great product(s) and well done information sets. Thank you all who are involved.

I scanned as much of the group info as I could before sending this along. I did not find any info regarding this type of issue.

First the basics:
Using Windows 10 - Version of NanoSaver 3.8
Device #1 NanoVNA H 2"
Device #2 NanoVNA H4 4¡± Ver 0.5.0 Build Feb 20, 2020 Kernel 5.1.0

I navigated though the Port connection issues and am now communicating with my New NanoVNA H4 device.
I still have my NanoVNA H device and have connected that with NanoSaver as well w/o issues.

The issue that I¡¯m seeing is this:

- Using the NanoVNA H device - after connecting to NanoSaver and calibrating, the device screen/display stays fully lighted and reflects the settings in NanoSaver ie Start / Stop; SWR / Smith Chart etc.

-Using the NanoVNA H4 device - as soon as I connect, the screen/display dims considerably, and does not reflect the settings in NanoSaver.

Will downloading the latest Version fix this or Is this a known issue? Is there something I¡¯m missing/not doing correctly

Thanks for listening,

Barry - ky0gbz
