Oops! I missed it in your post #19809. Sorry! I must have been just 'skimming' and not reading closely enough.
I have an early 2.8 inch -H, and a 'not the latest' -F. I've had no trouble (that I can remember) with my PC recognizing the -H. I've changed its firmware many times.
The -F works a little differently, and is just seen by the PC as a storage drive. Windows Explorer copies the firmware file to the -F. But there are far fewer firmware variations and customizations for the -F.
