It's good to have these discussions.
It keeps those who wish to argue minor points out of trouble.
There is a place for being fastidious about getting things like this right.
Though in forum conversations where the context gives sufficient clue,
seems fine to be a bit less formal.
For example, I might report a voltage of 10vrms.
And blissfully ignore those that give me guff.
I do get tripped up some times by milli vs mega,
especially when working with a literal minded tool like LTSpice.
And bits vs bytes is often confused pretty much everywhere.
Giga can easily mean 10**9 or 2**30, not always obvious from context.
Best to just spell it out unambiguously rather than rely on somebody's published standard.
When a published description of a product isn't quite clear, give the most weight to
whatever would look good to their marketing department.
So have at it.
When having arguments like this, I only ask that you move it
to a different thread so as not to disrupt the technical discussion.
As the original poster here so kindly did.
But glad I read the thread.
Definitely need to cook up that helpful semilog chart in pynum
showing cps vs hz for posting on the wall.
It's often fun to add to the general confusion.
And occasionally educational.
