Also, make sure you're using an OTG (On The Go) USB cable that connects to the tablet (NOT the Nano) and enables HOST mode on the tablet.
The Nano then plugs into the OTG cable's USB-A connector.

? In a previous thread, another user posted that his Galaxy Tab A worked with the Android app.? I not sure if he meant the Android app downloaded from Google Play Store, or the web app at .? Try both and see if either one connects.
