Thanks for the link. I went to the Clear Linux website and poked around. It's using RPM bundles and FlatPak for software formats. Just check out the workbench or ham radio software that you define as "must have working 100%" to see if you can get it cleanly installed here. Note that FlatPak tends to isolate the package for "security" but that often keeps one package from cleanly communicating with another.
They say they often have multiple updates per day so there's a lot of changes going on. May be great but it's a lot.
In any case, potential uses should evaluate beneath the flashy install and Forbes' promotional piece here before committing to it.
