As I mentioned, we can¡¯t guarantee anything specific as we¡¯re all dependent on the state of the ionosphere. But if you could provide the location where you plan to be and dates of the camp event, we can see if something is feasible.?

Thanks! As I'm a beginner in ham radio, I had to get help from a radio club. The obvious question they asked me was how the camp planned for radio communication to others. They need time to prepare, test and plan for this, and obviously they can't cover all amateur bands. So this is why I'm asking for details and the plans WSJ have. Right now the camp I'm responsible for most likely will cancel this activity due to there's too many factors that are unknown and we simply do not have the resources to cover everything.

Probably the best advice for individual hams and Scout groups that wish to talk to the Scouts via Amateur Radio Station at the upcoming World Scout Jamboree is just to look on the DX Cluster for DX spots reporting NA1WJ.?
Since propagation and thus the actual bands we could use will vary, that¡¯s the best way to find us. I¡¯ll try to post some DX spots showing the frequency of NA1WJ once we¡¯re in full operation.?
The NA1WJ station begins to be built this week, so there might be some preliminary test transmissions, but operations really start up next week when the Scouts arrive?on July 21.We¡¯ll then try to be active around the clock?until August 1.?
During the daytime hours in the USA, we¡¯ll be looking for stations to actually have meaningful conversations with the Scouts, and not simply exchange signal reports.? At night, more of a DXpedition type operation might develop.?
