Solar numbers aren't always a good predictor of band conditions, but this solar cycle is already ahead of what the experts predicted,?and the solar numbers are better now than at any time?during the last solar cycle. If you don't hear much activity when you first listen, try again later. Band conditions can change drastically in a matter of hours. If you don't have an HF station at the moment, try using the club remote station, even if only to listen, and see what a DX contest is about.
